"Dave's Hideaway" was meant to be a way for my friend Dave Casey to share his decidedly unique perspective on life and music with BluesPlus fans. We envisioned it as something he would do on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. He wrote several columns for "Hideaway" that were originally posted on this site in the summer and fall of 2006. |

I believe that if he had been given the time to pursue it, Dave would have become a great writer. I first got the idea from the e-mails that he used to send to me. They were off-the-wall, funny, insane and from time to time touched with genius. |
|
|
| Perhaps at some point in the future someone else will turn up with the gift and desire to pick up where Dave left off. I think he would like that. I'm certain that we'll find a way for listeners who want to interact with us to do so. I hope you enjoy the wit and wisdom Dave left behind. Below is the introduction that I originally wrote for this page. |

Check out Dave Casey's rants, rambles, & generally off-center view of the world & the way blues (along with jazz & roots) fits into it. The idea for this column came from our e-mail conversations. He makes me laugh, think ... and most important ... believe. If I hadn't met Dave, I would have given up on BluesPlus
a long time ago. So I guess whatever you think of BluesPlus ... now you know who to blame. |
